Recumbent Bike

A Recumbent Bike is an exercise bike with comfortable bucket seats. The rider sits in a reclined position and low to the floor than a normal recumbent bike.  The bikes have some benefits over an upright.  The seats on this bike are more comfortable and would be easier to ride for people who are overweight.  If you want to do an upper body workout you could easily use some dumbbells while reclining in the seat. If you have problems with your upper back a supine bike can better for your posture. On an upright bike, the rider can get a painful neck and upper back from leaning forward and looking up. They allow you exercise while your body is in a comfortable position and your body weight is not putting any pressure on your joints. The seats on the bike offer a lot of benefits as this can be very uncomfortable especially for men. This is not the case with the Recumbent Bike.

As with all bikes most these bikes will have a computerize programme system allowing the rider to choose a number of different programmes to challenge their fitness or to increase their fitness levels.  Some of the programmes on these bikes can be superior to upright bikes.  It is a well known fact that combining a Low Fat Diet and a cardiovascular workout will allow you to achieve your goals to lose weight.

There is only one other home exercise machine which would gentler on the joint and also has the added advantage of providing a weight bearing exercise routine.  This home exercise machine would be the Elliptical Exercise machine.
